The Algerian painters have so many things to be expressed by their painting which they can not express by the word because so many barriers surround them.

Their sufferings or their suppressed enjoyments were able to express themself only by the paintbrush and the explosion of colours.

Baya : Fatma Haddad Mahieddine (died in 1998)

 

Ahmed Issiakhem : (1928-1985) is one of most prestigious artists of contemporary Algeria, he was a pupil of Omar Racim (brother of the painter Mohamed Racim)

 

Mohamed Racim (Miniaturist)

Mohamed RACIM (1896-1975), stemming from a family of artists which bequeathed him a tradition of art and the name " Er Racim " which, in Arabic, means painter.

Ahmed and Rabah Asselah foundation

Ahmed and Rabah Asselah (father and son), the father Director of the College of the Fine art of Algiers, the studying son. They were murdered in the surrounding wall of the establishment on March 05, 1994. Rabah flew to aid of his father !!!!


Nakhla and Messaoud, native of Laghouat (city of the Algerian South), creates works by using as only building material the sand.
