Located at the West of the country, Tlemcen is a historical city and traditions.
It is a city museum, the first town of art of Algeria. It is located at the medium of gardens and orchards on a red cliff bottom.

In El-Eubbad, you can visit
the mosque and the tomb built around Sidi Bou-Medienne.

Boumedienne, celebrates soufi,
born in Seville into 1126, Abou Mediene, Choaib the Andalusian, or Sidi Boumediene,
passes for patron saint of Algeria. Initially shepherd, this Spanish goes to
Fès, then in Tlemcen, before gaining Mecque where it meets the large mystic
Abdelkader El-Gilani, of which he becomes an enthusiastic disciple.
He settles then in Bougie (Béjaia) from
where his doctrine will radiate on all the Moslem occident. He dies into 1198,
on the path of Marrakech, the capital almohade. Buried on El-Eubbad, close to
Tlemcen, his tomb imposes itself like a place of pelerinage.
The second President of Algeria took the name of it: Houari Boumedienne (of its true name Mohamed Boukharouba).

In the surroundings, ruins of Mansourah and the head of hispano-mauresque work of art.
It is in Tlemcen that created for itself a new musical kind " the haouzi ", halfway between the Andalusian music and the music Bedouin, with Algerian words.
